Swedish meatballs taste delicious, and they are easy to prepare as well. One thing that inspired me to cook Swedish meatballs is the meatball shop cookbook. Recently I received this cookbook from a friend of mine, and the recipe of the meatballs in it was so easy that I could not stop from trying this one. The result of the attempt was mouth-watering too, but as sometimes new adventures teach you a valuable lesson, this attempt of mine also taught me something, and that is to invest in a convenient meatball maker. To make my next attempt better than the first one, I have also bought a meatball maker. But we will talk about it later; first, let’s have a look at the mouth-watering recipe of Swedish meatballs.

How To Cook Meatball Shop’s Swedish Meatballs

To make the Swedish meatballs first, you will have to prepare 24 meatballs about the size of 1 1/2-inch. To make the meatballs, you will need the following ingredients.

Ingredients To Cook Swedish Meatballs

  • White Bread (torn in uneven pieces): 3 Slices
  • Beef Broth: ½ cup
  • Olive Oil: 2 Tbsp
  •  Heavy Cream: ½ cup
  •  Unsalted Butter: 2 Tbsp.
  •  Onion (finely diced):1
  • Fresh Parsley (chopped): 2 Tbsp.
  •  Ground Spice: 1/4 tsp.
  •  Dry mustard powder: 1/4 tsp.
  •  All-purpose flour: 2 Tbsp.
  •  Ground Beef: 1 lb. 80% lean
  •  Ground pork shoulder: 1 lb.
  •  Salt
  •  Freshly ground black pepper: 1/2 tsp.
  •   Large Eggs: 2

Cooking Method 

Pre-heat the oven first at 450°F. Now put the olive oil on a 9×13 inch baking dish and coat it evenly on its surface. It’s time to put the bread, Cream, and beef broth in a bowl for 5 minutes. Now put the butter in a heated frying pan on medium-high heat. When the butter gets meld to add chopped onion and stir it frequently until it becomes transparent. Now add mustard powder, flour, Parsley, and allspices and mix them well. Now combine the cooled mixture of onion and other things with the bread and other items. Add eggs, salt, and pepper and mix it well. Now roll the mixture to make balls and put them in a baking dish. You can deep fry them as well. Once the meatballs are cooked, serve them with your favorite combination.
