Hunan Hot, spicy and Szechwan Shrimp are one of my favourite types of seafood. Its unique flavour combined with its health benefits make it a perfect companion when you are on a diet. These kinds of shrimp are usually mixed with sauces that are spicy or have hot spices in them. These ingredients are what makes it spicy. There are two main varieties of these shrimp; the red, and white. These two red, hot varieties are sold at most Chinese markets and Asian grocery stores. When they first get out of the refrigerator, they can taste very fishy. Once they are cooked, they can have an almost smoky flavour.
Spicy Shrimp: White Shrimp
White shrimp can be bought at your local Asian market and will have the same red colour as the red variety, but it will have white flesh. The skin is pink, very light in colour, and they are very easy to cook. The spicy hot version has been on the market for years. If you look for it in Asian markets, you will find that it comes in packets that look like chilli chicken. You mix these packets up and throw them on the table so that your family can have a taste.
Spicy Shrimp: Red Hot Version
I do not really care about which kind of shrimp you choose, but I do prefer the red hot version. I think it’s very healthy for me. You know what, the flavours in this type of shrimp are very different than any other. They are also a lot healthier and have many health benefits. Since the red hot versions have been on the market for such a long time, the recipe for this is very basic. All you have to do is fry the shrimp, mix it with sauce and sprinkle on any herbs that you want.
Spicy Shrimp: The Different Version
I love using the spicy version. It goes great on sandwiches and vegetables. You can even throw some in some black bean sauce and rice pilaf to give it a kick. For a vegetarian dish that is a little bit spicy, try using a little of garlic, onion, cilantro and a little soy sauce. Spicy shrimp is always a hit. You can make it as simple or as complicated as you like.
Spicy Shrimp: Chicken Thighs
You can try frying some chicken thighs in a little oil with a little bit of garlic and onions then frying them until they are golden brown and use a little of the spice mixture to cover them. Place them on top of a sandwich, add some lettuce and enjoy! Another variation that I am very fond of is to bake some shrimp and then sprinkle some of the spices on top of the shrimp for a spicy twist. Just place it in the oven for a few minutes and you have a delicious appetizer.
Shrimp Is The Easiest
I am not saying that shrimp is only the best way to eat it, but it is one of the easiest. It is also a very inexpensive choice. Just about anything goes with shrimp, and it is one of the healthiest foods you can have on your dinner table. It is also a great way to get your kids involved. Kids love shrimp, especially spicy shrimp. You can make a game out of it or just serve it with crackers and dips.
They will have a blast trying to figure out what is the spiciest shrimp that they can find. It is always a good time. They are much better at making fun foods than you are! Another reason why shrimp is one of the healthiest and one of the tastiest is that it is loaded with omega fats. This is important when you are trying to lose weight.
If you want to find the best way to eat it, then I would recommend steaming or broiling. If you are not going to cook it, you can buy it already prepared and have all the flavors you need.
