Some of the recipes, like the one we are going to make today, comes with more than 10 spices or masalas. We will take a look at how you can prepare the Indian Chicken Curry (Murgh Kari).
To make the dish, you will need some chicken breast. Make it boneless and skinless. Apart from that, you need some cooking oil, salt, sliced onions, minced fresh ginger root, minced garlic and some curry powder. You also require some ground turmeric, coriander, ground cumin, cayenne pepper, some water, and tomatoes.
For flavor and seasoning, you need some cilantro, yogurt, salt, fresh lemon juice, and garam masala. The garam masala is the traditional Indian spice or masala mix that comes with a wide range of spices ground into a single paste.
To prepare the Indian Chicken Curry (Murgh Kari), you need 60 minutes. As you can see, the ingredients are quite immense, like any Indian dish. Hence, you need to make sure that you purchase them and have them ready at hand.
Start the recipe by adding some salt to the chicken pieces that are boneless and skinless. They say that the skin is fat, but it is debatable. Some dishes require the skin to be on.
Using A Skillet, You Can Pour Some Vegetable Oil And Heat It On Medium Flame.
Make sure the chicken pieces are fried. Now, place them aside. Using the same skillet, you can add the garlic, ginger, and onions. Cook them for few minutes. Add the turmeric, coriander, curry powder, cumin, cayenne, and water.
Keep stirring the mix and then add some of the chopped cilantro, salt, curry powder, and cumin — Cook for 10 minutes on medium flame. Now, you can add the fried chicken to the mixture and pour some water to make it into a curry.
In the end, reduce the heat to low flame, and sprinkle some of the Indian garam masala and cilantro for garnish. Allow it to simmer in there for 15 minutes until the spices have mixed in together.
You can take a small spoon and taste it to ensure that it did and ready. Add some lemon juice on it for the flavor and immense texture. It also reduces the heat from the dish. You can have it with brown rice or brown bread.
