So many people love spicy and delicious food. We go to restaurants and order our favorite spicy dishes to enjoy the taste, but do you know you can easily make them at home? Spicy foods are proven to speed up your metabolism and also possess several health benefits. Let’s check out some delicious and very simple spicy food recipes.

Spicy Bombay Potatoes with Chili

2 potatoes chopped in small squares

3 tbsp corn flour

Oil for frying

5 green chilies chopped

3 cloves crushed garlic

3 tbsp tomato paste

1 tbsp chili sauce

2 tsp soy sauce

1 tbsp of black pepper powder

Cilantro freshly chopped

3 green onions chopped

Salt and sugar as required.


Take the corn flour in a bowl, add ½ tsp of salt and add water, whisk them well until the batter is smooth and medium thick. Put the potatoes in the batter and coat them well. Now deep fry them in oil until all sides are golden brown. In a pan, heat some oil and put the green chilies, garlic, chili sauce, soy sauce and tomato paste, stir them and cook for some time. Now add the potatoes and mix all of them, add salt, sugar, black pepper powder and cook for 3 minutes. Garnish with some cilantro and chopped green onions.

Spicy Vegetable Pulao

3 cups cooked rice

1 cup boiled carrots cut in small cubes

1 cup boiled peas

1 cup boiled french beans chopped

2tbsp oil/ghee

1 deep fried onion

A fine paste of 7 garlics, 7 dry red chilies, 1 small ginger, 1 tbsp coriander seeds and 1 tsp cumin seeds.

1 tsp turmeric powder

Some finely chopped coriander

Salt as required


Heat oil/ghee in a deep pan, add the paste and cook slowly on medium flame for 2 minutes, keep stirring. Then add the boiled vegetables, add some salt, a little water, stir and mix well with the paste. Cook them well for some minutes and then add the cooked rice, stir the rice slowly and add turmeric powder, salt and deep fried onions. Cover the pan and cook on medium flame for 3 minutes and serve hot, garnish with chopped coriander.

Spicy Chicken Breast


2 boneless chicken breasts

2 tbsp paprika

2 tbsp garlic powder

1 tbsp onion powder

1 tbsp salt

1 tbsp black pepper powder

1 tbsp dried thyme

1 lemon for juice


In a bowl, mix the paprika, onion powder, garlic powder,thyme, black pepper powder and salt. Take 3 tbsp of the seasoning mixture and rub on both sides of the chicken, squeeze half lemon juice on top of it and mix well with other spices. Brush some oil on the grills and place the chicken on it, heat the grills and cook both sides well until it’s soft and juicy. Serve hot with vegetables.


All the simple spicy food recipes mentioned above are very easy to make and don’t require more than 20 minutes to prepare. Quantity of the ingredients and spices can be changed as preferences. The spicy chicken breasts recipe is for 2 servings, while the other two dishes serve more than 3 servings.
